Samsung Dualview ST600 and ST100
What do teens and young adults love so much about laptops with built in cameras? Though there are many potential ways to answer this question, the experience is greatly enhanced by the ability to see your picture as it is being taken. As a result, it’s not uncommon to see young people, both by themselves and in pairs, engaging in impromptu photo shoots from the computer’s camera. Essentially this eliminates any guess work by putting the subject of the photo instantly in the director’s chair. Unfortunately, when out on the town for the night or on vacation, purse and pocket-friendly portable cameras have never been able to manage such all-inclusive control. How could a camera manufacturer possibly eliminate user error in photo taking with only a couple of inches of surface area to work with? The bright minds at Samsung seem to have a solution, simply put an auxiliary digital screen on the front of the camera. This allows everyone in the photo to see the picture as they pose, offering comparable fun to a photo-booth (props not included). What is included, however, in both upgraded versions of the original Dualview models, are 14.2 megapixels, a 1.8-inch front LCD screen, coupled with fun colors and a sleek, savvy design. The new models also help to reduce guess-work even further with Smart Auto technology. Taking into account the basic elements of good photography, Smart Auto analyzes key components such as composition, color, brightness and motion and optimizes the picture on all fronts. Can get kids to grin for a photo? Switch the front screen over to cartoon mode and watch smiles about from instantly entertained babies and toddlers. Both models off premium photo taking quality, with differences primarily lying in lens capacity. The ST600 provides a 27 to 135 mm focal range while the ST100 is equipped with a 35 to 175 mm ranged lens. The ST100 is the slight more expensive option, priced close to 30 more.
